Ok, I really don't get it, really. I'm being honest here. How is it that stupidity is humorous? All of these movies, they must be big hits because they keep making them, really? Are they funny? How come I don't get it? Maybe someone can explain it to me?

Caddyshack I GET! Love the ground hog, but it's not really "stupid" humor, more like...what's the words..."obvious humor" and Liar, Liar - Jim Carey isn't using "stupid" humor, just more "obvious" and it makes it funny.
I get those movies, how come I can't get the Bachelor Party humor? Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, is it "funny" to watch people do really stupid things? I'm not getting it...perhaps I never will..I don't know.
Whatever it is, there is a fascination with stupid humor and I'm just going to avoid it like the plague...I don't find flatulence funny, to me it's embarrassing! And the thing I hate more than anything in the world is being embarrassed! Hmm...maybe that's it! Maybe I empathize too much with the movie and feel embarrassed by what's happening on the screen...Nah, can't be it, that's plain silly.
I don't get Monty Python either...
Oh well, maybe you guys will have some great ideas!

Except for the animated stuff, Monty Python is the GOLD STANDARD! My favorite is when John Cleese and whatzhisname dress up as a couple of old biddies. Sometimes you have to suspend frontal lobe reasoning to enjoy some of the goofball humor you mentioned. I can't really get into Dumb & Dumber and the like, but I've been accused of having a real preference of stupid humor. Guess it's in the eye/ear of the beholder. Now I will tell you that SOME of it requires a good deal of weed smoking before it can be appreciated. Not that I KNOW this to be so, but I can only imagine that Harold & Kumar gets funnier with a serious buzz.
