Short but Sweet

How come we don't get good television in the Summer? Just because the studios pay exorbitant salaries for 13 or 26 episodes doesn't mean we should not have good television all year round!!

There are plenty of shows out there that start their season in the middle of the year and go on through the summer. Why can't we have 2 separate seasons then? So you think you can dance is on during the summer and their viewership sure doesn't suffer!!! The Closer has a different season (gotta love that show!!) and doesn't go with the "traditional" time frame and it's won tons of AWARDS!!!

I believe the original thinking behind summer re-runs was because people go away in the summer, but with DVR and On Demand, those justifications are no longer viable. Real entertainment year round, that is what we deserve and should expect! But how do we go about getting it? What can we do about it?

All you can find is a plethora of reality TV and repeats of the "traditional" tv season, what's up with that??? You don't "catch up" with things you missed anymore, you DVR or ON Demand or HULU, do these guys (producers) just not get what the digital age is doing for us?

We need more original programming and soon! Otherwise I'm just going to have to learn how to turn mine off, and maybe for good...
