Why is it so hard to do such a good thing? When I buy a bottle of water or soda or juice, I'm paying a deposit on it in some states. Then if I want to recycle the bottle, the center is only open for 3 hours every Saturday and the rules are outrageous! What can you recycle, when can you recycle, what components/items will they take? Why do they make it so confusing to be good? Why should you have to pay or try so hard to recycle when what you are doing will benefit everyone? Bundle up the papers, make sure the string is wrapped. Tree branches, make sure they are no longer than 4 feet in length and 2 feet in diameter. Leaves must be in brown bags and not supplied by the township you have to buy them...Wow! Any wonder nobody wants to recycle?
So why don't they take styrofoam? Can't it be recycled? If it cannot be, why would they sell EGGS and other things in it?? What about light bulbs? Why can't we recycle them? And how do we know that the electronics are getting to be recycled and not end up on the shores of a third world country?
Exactly how many times can they recycle? Paper? Cardboard? Plastic? Cans? What exactly are they making from all these FREE raw materials? We give them to these people and, a lot of times, we've paid more to have them, like a convenience fee. What happened to those days where you could get money for them. When I lived in California, I could go to the recycle center anytime M-Sat and get MONEY for all my recyclables...but here we give them away back to the township AND, it's the law, we HAVE to do it or we get fined...
Just saying...

recycle... we have a dumpster we put out every Thursday on the street and they take it away... never knew you could be fined for not doing it.
