Can someone help me find the Pause Button for my brain?
It appears that no matter what I do, my brain continues to run a mile a minute. When I'm trying to sleep, when I'm trying to chill, even when I'm in the shower, it just doesn't shut off!
While permanence is not what I'm looking for, a temporary cool down effect with maybe 1 or 2 thoughts wandering through my head would be nice. Instead, I have all the things I may have forgotten at work running through my head, updates on current projects, grocery shopping, check-up on mom, check-up on my sister and things I want to work on for my website. Where, oh where is the Pause???
How many jewelry designs are in my head that I have no time to get out? I try to get them on paper, then vanish, they're gone! My mind teases me with these wonderful thoughts and when I finally can sit down and do them, they aren't there! Toying with my psyche, playing with me all the time! Sometimes it is sure more than one can handle.
Every day I ride the bus and I can't doze off because my brain is going a mile a minute! What are all the things that I want to do but don't have time to do today? What do I want to learn now? I have to play BRAIN GAMES on the bus and sometimes at night in order to just calm myself down! At least on a brain game I can focus with one thought at a time and maybe one or two float through. But at least my head doesn't pound all the time with thoughts of what I need or want to do! Where is the pause button!!
Especially when laying in bed at night exhausted, trying to sleep! Why does my brain choose those moments to go over everything I need to accomplish at work tomorrow? Or thinking about things to update the website, or marketing, or oh my goodness, please stop! ROTFLMAO!
I love having a brain that can multi-task, I juggle many, many things at work and in my life, but there is a limit to how much one can handle. I just wish, sometimes, I could find the remote and hit "pause"!

I find that pause button at the bottom of my fourth bottle of beer. Your pause button may come sooner, maybe later than the fourth bottle!
