Everyone has their breaking point when it comes to self control. I'm not sure where mine is yet as I seem to have been good with it for the past few years and haven't gone in "excess" or "extremes" in any of this time. There was a time where my self control would dwindle when french fries were around, or maybe Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. LOL
Do you have any issues with Self Control?
Maybe it's Chocolate. Maybe it's texting, I hear a lot of teenagers actually are having this one, so much so that schools are taking phones away during class because the kids aren't paying attention! Go figure! Do you have a problem with spending money you don't have? Credit card debt is actually a big problem in this country.
Self control or self-control is the ability to control one's emotions, behavior and desires in order to obtain some reward later, and is the capacity of efficient management to the future. In psychology it is sometimes called self-regulation.
Self control should increase with age due to the development of the sensory system. As the sensory system develops, people's perceptual abilities expand. Children do not have a concept of time, and in this sense, they live in the present. However, as children age and develop into adults, they gradually gain the ability to comprehend the future consequences of their actions.
It really all boils down, again, to perception. If you perceive and are capable enough of understanding that there is a "reward" at the end of the "control" aspect of what you are 'waiting' for...you are more likely to keep control and reap the benefits of the rewards.
I find I really do well under self-control circumstances, lately. I see to have developed a way to just command my mind to see things the way I want it to see it and do what I want it to do, luckily enough!
Do you have any issues with self control? If so, what might they be and have you tried to conquer them? I think that we should all try to attain a higher state of being and with that, comes self-control. What do you really think?
Thanks for listening...
